Spain is new European Champions! Germany fifth!

Most of the time, the German team played on a very high level, but some nervous moments cost the qualification for the semifinals! In the end rank 5, the best result since 1993 but a missed chance to win more...

First victory! Serbia : Germany 1:3 (25:22 21:25 20:25 17:25)

Against the WC-4th Serbia the German team could prove their strength! After a nervous start, they also showed, that the team is very complete and has equal alternatives on each position. With very good work in attack and block they found their way into the match and in the end were clearly dominating it.

The next match is tomorrow at 15:30 (Central European Time) against Greece!

Ready to surprise Volleyball-Europe!

The German national team is ready for the European Championships 2007 in Russia! In the preparation for the tournament they played 12 matches and lost only the first one (a very close 2:3 against EC-host Russia), while the opponents where some of the best teams in Europe (Poland (3:1), Russia (2:3, 3:1 and 3:0), Serbia (3:1)). They won both preparation tournaments they played, the Hubert-Jerzy-Wagner-Memorial in Poland (5 victories against Poland, Serbia, Netherlands, Slovakia and Great Britain) and the 4-Nations-Cup in Leipzig (3 victories against Tunesia, Russia (B-Team) and Turkey) so Europe must be warned. Tomorrow the EC will start, Germanys first match is Friday 7th against Serbia!

Did it! Germany is qualified for the European Championships 2007!

After a great match in Leizig with a clear 3:0 against the Czech Republic the German team needed only one set in the away-match against the Czech team. They won the second set and later also the match with 3:2 and can participate at the EC 2006 in Russia.

The European-Qualification goes on for Germany!

With a clear victory today in Latvia (16:25 15:25 19:25) Germany is 2nd in group C of the qualification-turnament an can earn the EC-ticked in the qualification-playoffs. After a close defeat by the Bulgarian team and the debacle in Rumania the German team seamed to be completely changed and won each match without any problems. A great part of the change was the debut of the new libero Tom Kröger, after Till Lieber had to leave the team für private problems, and an attack-player had to fill the important libero-position for the first part of the qualification tournament. Christian played a great month, after the exhausting playoffs in Greece, and -apart from the first match against Bulgaria- was top-scorer in every match.

Preparation for the European-Qualification!

The German national team lost two friendly matches against a young Brasilian team. (3:0 and 3:1). The matches showd, that there ist still some work to do untill the start of the Qualification phase next Sunday after the team did not play together for such a long time!
